Gothcorp security intervened, and stray bullets caused an accident that affected Fries.īatman attempts to stop him from killing Boyle, but Boyle is frozen alive and shattered.įreeze restrains Batman in a block of ice and opens the GothCorp vault, but does not find what he wanted. Gothcorp's owner, Ferris Boyle cut his funding and fired him, causing a struggle where Boyle was taken hostage by Fries. Victor Fries was a cryogenic scientist who worked for Gothcorp, and used company tech to treat his dying wife. Freeze taunts Batman, revealing his origin: Mister Freeze takes everyone hostage, luring Batman to GothCorp headquarters.īatman finds Falcone and Maroni men frozen alive Freeze betrayed them. At GothCorp, one of Wayne Enterprises rivals, Lucius Fox has a meeting with Ferris Boyle as the two argue over acquisition and partnering with the Falcone Imports and Maroni Manufacturing. Maroni and Falcone hire Mister Freeze, a criminal scientist who can only survive under sub-zero temperatures, and provide men + funds to kill Batman. One of the men goes into the back office finding the dead bartender with a grin and a joker playing card note. While at pub, the Four Clovers Gang are served drinks, but the bartender is nowhere to be found. Confronts Bats and Gordon, and the three make a pact to destroy crime in the city. Jim Gordon installs a signal on the roof, which he christens the Bat-Signal. Loeb and Thorne push anti-Batman agenda, clearing Four Clovers gang of charges over Dent's authority. Batman foils their attempt using his new vehicle. The Four Clovers Gang attack Earle's prison transport, freeing her on orders of Sal Maroni.
Lucius presents Batman with the finished vehicle dubbed by him as the Batmobile. Earle is imprisoned, and Lucius assumes Wayne Enterprises. Harvey Dent arrives as the new District Attorney in Gotham, taking charge of the Wayne Enterprises collusion investigation and outing current CEO, Whitney Earle. He is now seen as a physical man instead of a dark myth. Batman becomes an established hero in gotham, who hunts down the mob.
